Make Cures Happen

You probably remember this FRIEND from previous posts.  (see "Friends" - May 2009)
{Erynn}
In February 2002, at the age of 27, she was diagnosed with Lymphoma and soon Leukemia. sHe is a fighter! A long road and battle = 7 years later and she is still fighting, but a different battle.

And of course my other friend . . .

{Shannon}
sHe'S a fighter too.  In November 2007, at the age of 34, she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

{bOtH} of these friends have benefited from cancer research.

DID YOU KNOW . . .

that in the United States there are more than 894,000 people fighting blood cancers?

Every 4 minutes, someone new is diagnosed.
Every 10 minutes, someone loses the battle.

Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under the age of 20.

Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma is the sixth most common cancer in the United States.

Myeloma, the most difficult to treat blood cancer, has a five-year survival rate of only 35%.

I want to hElp in the fiGhT!!!

On Oct. 18, 2009, I will be participating in the Nike Women's Marathon/Half Marathon along with Ryan & his mom.  My goal is to cross the finish line and help raise money to cure blood cancers; leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.  As you can see, this is important to me  and I want to help make a difference.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has been investing in research for 60 years, and LLS- funded research has contributed to major advances in the treatment of cancer.  But more progress is needed to find cures.

That's why I'm asking my family and friends to help me support LLS's lifesaving cancer research.  Your donation will help improve the lives of many people who are battling blood cancers.
