I Had The Meanest Mother In The World

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO THE MOTHER'S IN MY LIFE
especially my mother & my mother-in-law. Thanx for all that you for all you have done and continue to do our us.
~ R & S

I came upon this and thought it was quite applicable for today.

I Had The Meanest Mother In The World

I had the meanest mother in the world. While other kids had candy for breakfast, I had to eat cereal, eggs, and toast. While other kids had cake and candy for lunch, I had a sandwich. As you can guess, my dinner was different from other kids' dinner too. My mother insisted on knowing where we were at all times. She had to know who our friends were and what we were doing.

I was ashamed to admit it, but she actually had the nerve to break the child labor laws. She made us work. We had to wash dishes, make the beds and learn how to cook (and much, much more . . .). That woman must have stayed awake nights thinking up things for us kids to do. And she insisted we tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

By the time we became teenagers, she was much wiser and our life became more unbearable None of this honking the car horn for us to come running. She embarrassed us to no end by insisting that our friends come to the door to get us.

I forgot to mention that most of our friends were allowed to date at the mature age of 13 or 14, but our old fashion mother refused to let us date until we were 16. She really raised a bunch of squares. None of us were ever arrested for shoplifting or busted for pot. And who do we have to thank for this? Your right, our mean mother.

I am trying to raise my children to stand a little straighter and taller and I am secretly tickled to pieces when my children call me mean. I thank God for giving my the meanest mother in the world. The world needs more mean mothers like mine.

Blogging?

Time is of the essence . . . Obviously I haven't had enough in order to blog, so my hiatus from blogging will continue until I have more time. . .

The last couple months in a nutshell-
* I went back to school and pulled out a 4.0 in my first semester back (Fall 2010).
* Felt like I was in the best shape ever and did my best time ever at the Womans 1/2 Marathon in Arizona in November.
* Ryan & I are training (kinda) for another 1/2 in Huntington Beach in a couple weeks. (Between Thanxgiving & Feb make it hard to train- I'd rather sleep- it's winter!!! LOL)
* Taking kids to Knotts Berry Farm during race weekend.
* Quiet Christmas
* Just the right amount of snow (enough to build a little snowman) and it was gone the same day! Yah!
* Hoping to make it through this semester which starts Monday. (I have math- which I haven't taken since Fall of 1991) & yes- that does make me OLD!!! Would love to pull out another 4.0 . . .

Holy Cow . . . time flies when you are busy!!!

I vowed that I would be better at my "journaling" aka Blog, but obviously that hasn't happened. I can honestly say, it probably won't for a while. AND . . . heres a few reasons why~

1. I'm a mom
2. I have 3 kids
3. All 3 kids are each in one or more extra curricular activities

8. I decided in Aug. to go back to college
9. Yes, you read that correct . . . I am a college student
10. My husband is gone until late most nights, so that means I'm the one juggling kids homework, activities, my homework, dinner, baths, bed and time together
11. A Little Bling Bling
12. I have friends and need a little bit of a social life
13. It's now time to think of other things (IE. CHRISTMAS)
14. I'm a cub scout leader (yes you did read that right)
15. I'm only human and can't be perfect all the time!

Enough Already

Title says it all. Been in rain since yesterday afternoon and it's time for it to go away. If the temperature was warm it would be great, but considering that it's only about 40 degrees (during the day- a 60+ drop for us) I'm so over it. I promise I won't complain anymore when it's 115+ at my house!

PRIDE

ALBERTA BOUND!

This is me . . . today!!!
I love this video & the lyrics. It makes me proud to be a Canadian and especially an Albertan. It's absolutely beautiful there. Lots of green grass, beautiful fields, cows, horses, the Rocky Mountains, coulee's, courteous drivers, family, friends, camping, and LOTSA wind! {I HATE wind . . . not just a little but I'm talking HATE in the strongest sense of the word- it makes me CRAZY} Still, I'm PROUD to be an ALBERTAN.

I'm looking forward to seeing the sign that says "40 miles to Canada" and crossing the border at Sweetgrass! Especially after driving 1,200 miles with my 3 chiclets.

MUD, MUD, MUD . . .

For the LOVE of:

{MUD}

10 k Mud Run= 6.2 m Mud Run

OBSTACLE COURSE
river crossings, sand, Suicide Hill, 5 ft. walls,
tunnels, mud pits, mud
crawl, muddy hill, stinky mud & a lake
MUD, More MUD & EVEN More MUD!!!

We did much better this year and all knocked
time off of what we ran it in last year (even though there
were more people) which in turn means more "bottlenecks"! EEKKS! We had a fantastic time.

All fresh and clean prior to the race (notice the color of our shirts)

Julie coming out of the last mud pit heading to the finish line . . .

Sonia in the last mud pit
Sonia & Emilee after the race

Ryan & Danny after the race

Nice "white" shirts
